By Word of Mouth Caters a Celebration of 1000 B Corps at the Natural History Museum

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 - 11:45

“To change the world, you’ve got to throw a better party than those destroying it”.

Team By Word of Mouth worked with B Lab and B Corp Warwick Events to do just that: avoiding unnecessary waste and keeping the catering footprint as small as possible for a landmark celebration at the Natural History Museum in November.

The majestic Hintze Hall was a fitting backdrop for an event that brought the community of UK B Corps together for the first time to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: reaching 1000 certified B Corporations in the UK.

B Corporation certification is a standard of sustainability that comes with a rigorous assessment.  These are businesses who demonstrate, and are committed to improving, the high standards of environmental and social sustainability.  So, a party for CEOs from B Corps to share best practices and ambitions for the future was a challenging audience for the team.

All 10,000 canapes served on the night were either vegetarian or plant based and, to be as inclusive as possible, 50% were gluten free too.  Highlights included a warmly spiced Imam Bayildi on Homemade Flatbread, Truffled Mushroom & Pecorino Souffles, Bombay Potato, Salted Caramel Panna Cotta and Sticky Toffee & Pear Pudding.

Canapes were served on By Word of Mouth’s re-usable frames, with B Corp branding inside to give that extra level of personalisation.

Team By Word of Mouth mixed B Corp drinks to make a delicious punch and, where possible, other B Corp drinks were enjoyed straight from the can or the bottle to reduce glass use.

By Word of Mouth is proud to have been chosen by Warwick Events to work with them because of their company heritage and their conscientious working practices.
